Ups and Downs

This blog helps me be honest with myself and others.  So here is the truth:  for the past 2-3 days I have been feeling "down".  Normally I am a up, sunny, cheerful, annoying, happy person.  But for the past few days I have felt like I was in a funk.  My diet has been bad and I feel like that is a good portion of my feeling but it isn't the only thing.  I am just feeling kind-of lonely, unmotivated and just in a bad mood.  I didn't feel that way during the school day; the energy and the business of the day consumed me but after the school day was done I felt those feelings.

This weekend Husband and I are visiting his family and going to a college basketball game as a group.  So I know my energy will have to be "up" because if not my mother-in-law becomes paranoid.  I wish I didn't have to pretend to be "up".  I wish I was just feeling that way.

What do you do to get out of a funk?  What makes you happy?

I'm sorry you're feeling down, sweetie! Don't worry, it happens to me all of the time. I'll go a few months being super happy, then a couple of days I'll just be so sad and down. AnI tend to eat poorly and not exercise. Bt then I somehow get my act together and things turn around. Smetimes it even helps to vent about it on the blog. I'm sure after a nice weekend, you'll be back to your normal, happy self!

Retail therapy at Target helps me. Sometimes when I don't have the money I just wander around Target. I guess Target is my happy place!

Hope the weekend is good for you...hopefully you get an extra rest day on Monday!

Oh, sweetie, I'm so sorry. I have patches in life like this all the time. I know it will pass. Maybe it's the weather.... it's been coooooold. What do I do?? I usually try to curl up with a good book (one of those mindless, romantic, chick lit books) and escape in someone else's life for a while. I hope you feel better soon! And I totally know what you mean about the mother-in-law.

Aw, I hope that you feel better soon! When I'm in a funk I look to my guy, my pup and some dvds of my favorite tv shows. Try to sneak some time for yourself to just "be" this weekend!

When I'm in a funk, I like to write, talk it out, go for a long walk WHILE talking it out, dance, cook (the more chopping involved, the better!) or do yoga.

oh boo I HATE when I feel funky. Honestly, when I feel that way the LAST thing I want to do is workout. But if I can drag myself to the gym and start walking (with music like suddenly I see and pocket full of sunshine - girls shiz) before I know it i'm walking through whatever is causing the funk. I can like see things clearer and come up with a plan - it's weird! Nothing else works for me (except for just waiting it out - but i'm too impatient!)! haha Hang in there, girl!!

I'm sorry you're in a funk right now. :-( I really do think it happens to ALL of us; we just experience it at different levels...ya know?

What's weird to me is my "funks" start for no reason at all. Honestly, I'm still learning how to deal with them - but what helps me a lot is just accepting that it is okay. I am a pretty positive person naturally, and it's perfectly fine for happy people to feel a little blue sometimes. It definitely helps me to spend time with my nieces/nephew, pop in my favorite movie, or hit the gym for a bit. Or read a cheap gossip magazine! :-)

I hope you feel better and enjoy your time with your family. I think especially this time of year is hard for all of us!

I'm sorry you are feeling like you are in a funk. I hope it goes away soon. Maybe some extra sleep would help? When I feel run down some extra sleep usually does the trick.

sorry you're bummed out :-( I get that way sometimes too...and the best way to get out of a funk, is to fake it. Force yourself to go out and do things, and force yourself to try to have fun, and eventually i usually will pull out of the funk and actually start having fun and feeling myself again. getting back on track with food usually helps too! feel better chica!!

I have found that so much of my mood is tied to what I eat...when I eat well, I feel well, when I eat junk, I feel junky! Which does not stop me from eating junk, but I understand the connection. I see the more recent post though and I'm glad you're back on top!

That sucks! I hope you're feeling better soon :)

When I'm in a funk I...play with my puppies or go to the pet store and play with those puppies, I cook or bake something new, I read a new book, I read blogs, get a pedicure, buy a new outfit, have a coffee date with my friends...hope those help!
