My Savior of Strength Training

I am terrible at strength training.  At the gym I don't push myself and really don't know what to do.  Enter:  Jillian Michaels and No More Trouble Zones.  She is my savior of strength training.

I love this DVD.  I love the circuits and how it is broken up.  It is a killer and my body currently is hurting.  I also love that it is just strength training and not cardio; I'm getting my cardio in with my miles.  Yesterday I did circuts 1-3.  Today I did circuits 4-7.  Both days I had run 4.5 and 6 miles so I didn't want to push myself to do the full DVD.  On Wednesday I am planning to do the DVD in its entirety instead of going to the gym.

I was such a fan of the 30 Day Shred that I thought nothing could compare to it.  But I now love this DVD in a different but equal manner.

I looove NMTZ! I think I even like it better than the shred. I like how you are breaking it up and pairing it with your running days.

So glad you like it! It's currently kicking my rear end! I finally stopped hurting so much after Friday's workout!

It's weird, I have the Shred and I just really didn't like it as a "strength" routine. To me it felt like cardio with weights lol.

Awesome that you found something that pushes you!

I have this dvd and I've only done it ONCE! It was sometime last spring, and I remember being so tired and sore for days. I need to break it out again though. I like how you're breaking it up. I should do that. It seems like SO MUCH all at once.

ooh very interesting!! If you don't mind me asking - what equipment do you need? Just dumbbells and a mat? I like the idea of an ST video since I don't have a body pump class nearby!

I've been struggling to get my ST in - maybe I should give this a whirl!! Thanks for the good idea!
