If you're a teacher you completely understand this title. If you have to eat a quick lunch then you understand too! When I plan my lunches for the week time and effort are things I consider.
Here's what I am planning for lunch this 4-day week:
Tuesday: Spinach quesadilla from the microwave (grill marks not necessary) and clemintine
Wednesday: tomato soup with carrot sticks and ranch mix and clemintine
Thursday: hotdog with carrot sticks and ranch mix and clemintine
Friday: clean out the frig salad (spinach, lettuce, apple, avocado, carrots, etc) with crackers and laughing cow and clemintine
This is what my daily lunch is like:
- Minutes 1-5: get food in microwave and help students get lunch and to their seat
- Minutes 5-15: eat lunch quickly with some chit-chat with other teachers while students come up to get help with pudding cups, ketchup packets, etc.
- Minutes 15-17: check on students and throw away my trash
- Minutes 17-20: go to bathroom, put up lunch box and get jacket for recess
- Minutes 20-23: get students up from tables, help with trash issues, pick table washers and monitor line of students.
This is a picture my lunch bag. I love it! It is big and from Target!

I like your lunch bag... look room-ee
i have the same print on my lunch bag! it is also from target, but i think it is a smaller version of what you have.
Oh, my...yes. I will say, that was one big thing I don't miss! I ate the "Soup by the Hand" things almost everyday when teaching, so I could walk around if I was on lunch duty. :-)
I LOVE your lunch bag! I bring my lunch in a reusable grocery bag. Not nearly as cute!
Very cute lunch bag..... I think I need one of those! And I totally understand.... but my lunch is constantly interrupted with kids visiting me for ice packs and ritalin..... I see a blog post in the making.... thanks for the inspiration!
Super cute lunch bag!
You don't get a break for lunch?!?!? Crazy!
Your lunch bag is so cute!
At my last job I had to eat my lunch at the work counter and had to wait on any customer who came in while I was trying to eat - so I understand!
I love the lunch bag! Crazy how something so simple can make your day brighter. One day I had a kid bring 4, yes 4, cups of mandarin oranges for me to open. Sometimes I think there should be a rule that if you can't open it, you probably shouldn't bring it for lunch. But that would eliminate just about every item kids bring to lunch!
that lunch bag is adorable! The job of a teacher never stops, huh?
My lunch bag is similar - different shape, but same print. I keep it stuffed!
I hear you on the lunch thing. Last year enough teachers mentioned to the principal that it was hard to eat in 25 minutes because it wasn't really 25 minutes between running to the restroom, standing in line to microwave your food, etc. He gave us 5 extra glorious minutes this year! :)
Aye!! It's nearly impossible to eat lunch as a teacher. I usually end up eating my food cold because I don't have time to microwave it.
I never realized teachers had to eat so quickly-you've got it down to a science though!
