Twas the Night Before the 10K

Twas the night before the 10K and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even Ella Blue
The race gear was laid out in the bathroom with care
In hope that the morning air would be warm and fair

The runners were snuggling together in their bed
With visions of quick feet running through each head
And Ella Blue in her crate all curled and warm
Had settled in for a cool October slumber for good form

If I didn't have to go to bed soon to get ready for the run, I'd finish it.

Thank you so much for all the play-list suggestions.  I'm excited to have new running songs tomorrow.  I'm kind of nervous about tomorrow.  I didn't really exercise this week due to my grandfather's death and just so much going on.  I'm hoping my run will be therapeutic.  My biggest race concern is the weather, the estimated temperature for the run is 57 degrees.  I am much happier with warmer weather, like 70ish.  I'm also worried about tomorrow being a physically and emotionally draining day.  We're having the funeral tomorrow afternoon.  It will be a busy day.

I'll post the race recap tomorrow once we get home.

I ran a 5K with my mom the morning of my grandpa's funeral. It was an emotional day and it helped to get a run in that day. I'm thinking about you and your family. You'll do great!

P.S. Your poem is really cute.
P.S.S. We DEFINITELY should do a race in Charlotte sometime. My friend is doing the Thunder Road marathon this December and I was thinking about maybe coming down. We can make some plans soon!
