Quick Anniversary Recap

Thank you all for the sweet comments and well-wishes.
They are greatly appreciated!

Last year (our 1 year Anniversary) the whole day all I thought about was what I had been doing a year prior (our wedding day). This year I didn't remember all the details and times of the wedding day but was still able to look at pictures and think back about how wonderful our wedding day was! It was the BEST day of my life!

To celebrate we went out to dinner and to a movie. But before the fun could begin we had a meeting with out financial planner. We do this yearly. I won't get into that but I will say that I highly recommend meeting with one. It's great to get a third party opinion about your finances. Each year we set up a "plan" to help us meet our goals.

After all the money, money talk, I wanted to EAT! We went to a really nice Italian restaurant! Thanks to Husband's parents for some extra anniversary cash. I enjoy nice meals more when someone else is footing the bill. My only complaint was the HUGE amount of cheese put on the Caesar salad.

I had Gamberi Parmigana (pasta with shrimp that covered in cheese). It was really good. I focused more on the shrimp than the pasta.

Husband had Gnocchi Sorrento (potato dumplings with pasta sauce). Both meals were really good and we had plenty of left-overs.

At dinner we exchanged cards. Husband is a really sweet note writer so I usually feel the stress to write something really good. I cried a couple happy tears.

We then decided to go see the movie "The Proposal". We had been given free movie tickets for Christmas that we had forgotten about and used them last night. I am amazed at how much movie tickets are. We live in the south (generally lower prices) but still this is not cheap! I love Netflix and will continue to rent movies because it is cheaper.

I thought this was funny! I did enjoy a diet coke. I have decided to take on Jen's (Prior Fat Girl) challenge and not drink anything but water for the rest of the month. It will be a CHALLENGE for me!

The movie was funny! Betty White made it! If you haven't yet seen it, don't go see it. Rent it!

Our wedding flowers were blue hydrangeas. He sweetly got me a vase of beautiful flowers.

Do you see Ella?

It was a great anniversary. We enjoyed our time together.

Note: If you have the impression that we are "cheap" people, let me correct you. We want nice things. But we know that spending money on little things add up. We'd rather save for the big things in life (cars, babies and our FOREVER house)!

Are you a spender or a saver? I was a spender when we first got married. I have since changed into more of a saver. Money is the number one cause of stress is most marriages!

It sounds like you had a great night! I think I am going to wait to rent that movie, it's just gotten to be sooo expensive to go the theatre.

I think that I'm both a spender and a saver. I tend to splurge, but I also save each month. Although, getting a financial planner is definitely something to think about. Have a good day!

Your anniversary sounds great! I'd love to know where you went to eat, since I'm in NC too.

I am a moderate spender. I try to be really careful with money, but sometimes I am not. It's kind of funny to me b/c I work with money for a living. Anyway, one of our current goals is to read the Dave Ramsey book and do better financially. I look forward to taking on a financial make-over!

I guess if I had to choose one or the other...I am a spender. I don't think I go crazy but I have a feeling I will become more of a saver once we combine finances, get married...etc. I'm already feeling the "I want furniture" bug so theres something requiring lots of moola!

Sounds like a wonderful anniversary!! LOVE the blue hydrangeas :)

Sounds like a fabulous evening! I'm drinking a GM as we speak! Loving it!

I believe finiances are the brunt of all of mine and husband's arguments. Mostly because he has to put forth all faith in me and trust that I'm being smart since he can't really do a whole lot until he comes home. It's a definate struggle but I believe it will all calm down after he gets home and realizes that I'm staying on top of everything!

Happy Wednesday!

I am a reformed spender. I've become a saver so that I CAN spend!

Happy anniversary! I haven't had time to read back through your blog like I'd like to, but I'm interested in how you got motivated to get fit and lose weight! I don't have trouble with the exercise part -- that's my ticket to sanity with three little ones, but I'm still struggling with my nighttime will power. Any advice? It seems like once I get all three kids in bed I completely don't care what I eat, and it becomes my "reward" to have a bowl of (light, at least) ice cream or whatever it is comforts me. I am not sure how to break out of the habit. I'm so exhausted mentally and physically by the end of the day that I give myself what I want = food. So I still have 10 pounds of baby weight to lose, and my baby is 5 months old. Anyway, thanks for your blog! I'm wondering where you live now. I grew up in north Alabama but as you know am now in Kingsport. My email is jennifer.janus@gmail -- you know the rest.

What a fun anny!! We saw it and I liked it - but my hubby did not. Also - I think that Jen's "proposal" to only drink water for a month sounds terrific!!! I might try and do that ...

I am more of a spender but trying to be a saver. Does that make sense?
