If you haven't yet, check out my post on "Taking an Oath". I want your thoughts and feedback!
.Happy Friday! Even though I am "off" for the summer I still really love the weekends. I love being able to spend all day with Husband.
.
As it is Friday it is also Foodie Friday. Here are the groceries I bought today:
Protein: black beans, organic ff milk (just recently being carried by my grocery store, egg beaters, almost organic chicken tenders
I was so excited to see this chicken.
The packaging said it wasn't feed hormones or antibiotics.
I live in the country where it is very difficult to find organic or natural items at the grocery store.
The closest Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Earth Fare are all over an hour away.
.
Veggies/Fruits: frozen spinach, frozen strawberries, Steamfresh veggies, bananas, coleslaw mix, bag lettuce, oranges, apples, spinach
.
Bread items: Arnold's sandwich slims, whole grain bread (I read the label and could pronounce all the ingredients, Flatout wraps.
.
Random things: cinnamon cereal, Husband's oatmeal, Plum sweets (my crack), Diet Sundrop (haven't had any since July 15th!), baked chips, cocoa, pudding for Husband, dried apricots, Asian dressing, EVOO
.
This week's menu included
Friday: see below
Saturday: Date Night and I'm in the mood for Jason's Deli
Sunday: shrimp and grits. I bought the stuff last week but didn't make it.
Monday (meatless): pancakes with baked apples & cinnamon and eggs
Wednesday: Flatout quesadillas (the best meal to use random left-overs)
Thursday: Kashi pizza night.
My EATS for today:
B: Green Monster
S: 1 tbspn pb on whole grain bread
L: McDonald's hamburger kid's meal (I had NO other options!)
D: salad with orange added; baked chicken, steamed veggies and rice bought at a Japanese restaurant
I love Japanese food but I know even the veggies aren't prepared in a healthy manner so we only buy the rice. It's semi-homemade.
d: banana and chocolate shake SO GOOD! from Running to Show Things Down
(scroll down to the end of the post for the recipe)
My EATS were not that great today nor too bad. I could have made some better choices (i.e. not McDonald's -- I am sure it will KILL me). One area that was lacking was my exercise. It was lacking as it NON-EXISTENT today. But I'm heading to bed for an early, long run tomorrow. I'm sure I'll be sweating out the beef and fries. Ewww!

You did very well for not having options. A kid's burger isn't THAT bad. Did you switch the fries for apples or another leaner side option?
I love your Monday night breakfast for dinner - baked apples with cinnamon and raisins would be even better :)
I just discovered Jason's Deli! I love their huge salad bar
Haha :) that's the kind of milk I buy! Your grocery shopping looks a lot like mine! Oh and I use a Polar F6 HR Monitor. My boyfriend got it for me for my bday..it's really great, and I'm totally addicted to having it when I run :) Definitely worth the money
